Relationship Between Multiple Sclerosis Severity and Fear of Falling With Mediating Roles of Disability, Cognitive Factors, and Physical Factors Among Patients With MS

Background: Fear of falling (FoF) is a permanent concern and may limit daily activities diminish confidence in balance abilities leading to muscular deterioration, sedentary lifestyle, reduced quality life. The present study aimed investigate the relationship between multiple sclerosis severity FoF with mediating roles disability, cognitive factors, physical factors among patients (MS). Methods: This research was correlational based on path analysis. statistical population consisted all MS who visited neurology centers hospitals Sari, Iran. A total 200 were selected as sample using multistage random sampling. Two from Sari city these hospitals. instruments included falls efficacy scale-international, scale, expanded disability status questionnaire, MOS 36-item short-form health survey. data analyzed by structural equation modeling AMOS SPSS software, version 25. Results: results demonstrated that proposed model fitted data. had positive significant relationships disability. negative (P<0.01). direct insignificant excluded model. findings confirmed mediated Conclusion: frequency much higher severity. Considering consequences MS, it recommended consultation services be provided at healthcare improve their activity reduce FoF.
